The Heureka system is a suite of freely available softwares for multi-criteria forestry planning and forest analysis. The system is developed and hosted by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences. The vision is that system should contribute to a more profitable forestry as well as a higher biodiversity. The ecosystem services handled today in the system is wood production, recreation, biodiversity and conservation, and carbon sequestration. Analysis methods include simulation, optimization and multi-criteria decision making, from stand-level to landscape and regional level. By incorporating these aspects in one and the same system, a planning problem can be approached in a holistic way.

The system also has support for user-developed plug-ins, making it relatively simple to extend some of the existing functionality even for external users.

The software is widely used in large-scale and small-scale forestry planning, research projects, and teaching.
