Usage: see Heureka Helpdoc

The Cost and Revenue control table contains settings for how costs and revenues are calculated.

Regeneration

Allows you to control how the costs of regenerations are simulated.

BurningCost

Defines the cost, in SEK per hectare, of prescribed burning (as an alternative scarification method).

Planting Cost Default

Default planting cost if the number of seedlings to be planted is missing (or set to zero). Else, Cost per Sapling includes both the planting cost and the seedling cost.

Cost per Sapling

Cost per planted sapling including labour cost.

Soil Preparation Cost

Cost per hectare for soil preparation.

Sowing Cost

Cost per hectare for sowing. Includes both seed and labour cost.

Fertilization

Fertilization Fixed Cost

Fixed cost per ha for fertilization. The spread of fertilizer is usually done from ground (with tractor) or from air (with helicopter). Only used when calculting cost for conventional fertilzation, not intensive fertilization.

Fertilizer Unit Cost

Fertilizer cost per kg N. Only used when calculting cost for conventional fertilzation, not intensive fertilization.

Intensive Fertilization Cost

Cost per hectare for intensive fertilization.

Cleaning

Allows you to control how the costs of cleanings (a.k.a. pre-commercial thinnings) are simulated.

Cleaning Cost Model

Fixed: Fixed cost per ha
Variable Variable cost, using calculated time consumption[1].

Cleaning Cost Per Ha / Hour

Depending on choice above, the options Cleaning Cost Per Ha or Cleaning Cost Per Hour will be displayed.

Harvest costs - model

Allows you to control how the costs of harvests are simulated.

Cost Model

Indelningspaketet/FMPP: a less detailed time consumption function is used in the simulations. The function is the same as that used in the old FMPP software. The cost functions are described on page 83-65 in "Dokumentation av Indelningspaketet" (Report 528, 2003, Skogforsk). see Excerpt from the report (in Swedish only)

Thinning

Thinning Forwarder Hour Cost

Defines the cost, in SEK per G15-hour, of using forwarder in thinning.

A0 to A4: time consumtion function coefficients, see "Dokumentation av Indelningspaketet", 2003, Arbetsrapport 528, Skogforsk.

Harvest Residue Extract. Cost

Harvest residue extraction cost in thinnings. Cost per ton = A0 + A1*x, where x is terrain transport distance


Biofuel Thinning

For biofuel thinning, specific cost functions and settings are used (Figure 2).

Forest Fuel Harv Cost Function

For harvesters, several functions are pre-set (1), but you can also add new functions. Click on the right of Forest Fuel Thinning Cost Function and select “Configure Coefficients…” (Figure 3) to open the form (Figure 4).

Forest Fuel Thin. Corridor Width

Corridor width at multi-tree handling (1 or 2 m).

Conversion factor for productivity in G0-time (which the functions are based on in this case) to G15-time for harvesters.

Conversion factor for productivity in G0-time (which the functions are based on in this case) to G15-time for forwarders.

Cost function (coefficients) for forwarding.

Final felling

Final Felling Forwarder Hour Cost

Defines the cost, in SEK per G15-hour, of using forwarder in final felling.

Final Felling Fell and Process Time Coefficients

(only if CostModel Skogforsk has been selected)

Coefficents in functions for calculating time for felling and processing in final fellings (see function T2 on page 9 in Skogforsk time_consumption harvester and forwarder. Note: For thinnings, another functional form is used and this set of coefficents is only available for final felling.

Stump Harvest Cost

Harvest and extraction cost for stumps in final felling. Cost per ton = A0 + A1*x, where x is terrain transport distance.

Machine

Driving Speed

Driving speed(m/min) of forwarder and harvester used in thinning and final felling.

First Thinning Capacity

Load capacity in tonne of forwarder used in first thinning. Typical value with "small" sized machine = 9.5.

Later Thinning Capacity

Load capacity in tonne of forwarder used in second thinning or later. Typical value with "medium" sized machine = 13.6.

Final Felling Capacity

Load capacity in tonne of forwarder used in final felling. Typical value with "large" sized machine = 17.9.

Koverride

(only when Skogforsk is selected)

Defines an array of settings, K, that will override any other values of WidthBetweenStripRoads with; if StripRoad then 15.6 m, if StripRoadMidFieldMachine then 15.4 m, if StripRoadMidFieldChainsaw then 20.2 m, and if FinalFelling then 25.9 m.

Soverride

(only when Skogforsk is selected)

Defines an array of settings, S, that will override any other values of WidthBetweenStripRoads with; if StripRoad then (1.0 x WidthBetweenStripRoads), if StripRoadMidFieldMachine then (2/3 x WidthBetweenStripRoads), if StripRoadMidFieldChainsaw then (2/3 x WidthBetweenStripRoads), and if FinalFelling then 13.1 m.

Terrain

Slope Data Source

DefaultValue implies that the value set in Slope Default (below) will be used.
Database implies that slope values are available in the database, usually at the stand-level.

Slope Default

0-10 % implies the average slope of the analysis area is very moderate, used if no other information is available in the database.
10-20 % implies the average slope of the analysis area is moderate, used if no other information is available in the database.
20-33 % implies the average slope of the analysis area is normal, used if no other information is available in the database.
33-50 % implies the average slope of the analysis area is substantial, used if no other information is available in the database.
>50 % implies the average slope of the analysis area is very substantial, used if no other information is available in the database.

Surface Data Source

DefaultValue implies that the value set in Surface Default (below) will be used.
Database implies that surface values are available in the database, usually at the stand-level.

Surface Default

NoSurfaceBoulders implies the average surface of the analysis area show no boulders, used if no other information is available in the database.
FewBoulders implies the average surface of the analysis area show few boulders, used if no other information is available in the database.
ScatteredBoulders implies the average surface of the analysis area show scattered boulders, used if no other information is available in the database.
FrequentBoulders implies the average surface of the analysis area show frequent boulders, used if no other information is available in the database.
LargeBoulders implies the average surface of the analysis area show large boulders, used if no other information is available in the database.

Terrain Transport Distance Data Source

DefaultValue: if true, value set in Terrain Transport Distance Default (below) will be used.
Database implies that terrain transport distance values are available in the database, usually at the stand-level.

Terrain Transport Distance Default

Average average one-way terrain transport distance in meters from the stand centroid to the nearest road.

Assortments

(only if Skogforsk is selected as harvest cost model) Allows you to control how the costs of harvests are simulated, by defining different assortments of the yield. This includes any different quality classes in a certain assortment.

Average number of assortments in any harvest.

Nb. Assortments In Final Felling

Average number of assortments in final felling.

Nb. Assortments in Selection Felling

Average number of assortments in selection felling.

Nb. Assortments in Thinning

Average number of assortments in thinning.

Pricelists

Allows you to assign a specific pricelist to a specfic type of harvest type. This functionality can be used for example to simulate that timber quaility yield distibution can be diffferent in when thinning (youn stands) than when final felling (older) stands.

Treatment Cost Trends

Diameter Classes

Cutting Diameter Classes

Allows you to edit the diameter class widths used by the program in Diameter Distribution of Cuttings Results.
