Known problems

Common

  • Mean age will be underestimated for young stand plantations with a mean height less than 1 m. The system will consider these stands as bare land and regenerate them, despite they may already be established. The problem occurs when you have entered data with the Import Stand Register utility, and not entered regeneration method and year for the young stands. The problem is solved if you enter a plantation year and method for all stands that are have a mean height less than 1 m.
  • Result variables of type boolean and enum are not displayed (in Treatment Data and Financial Data).
  • The handling of existing seed trees and overstorey trees are not completed, the only alternatives are "Remove Immediately" and "Leave". Other options, such as "Leave for x years", and "Apply treatment propsosal" should be implemented. In some cases, trees are mistakenly classified as overstorey trees and removed. This occurs for example stands suuplied with the demo data, a multi-layered old growth spruce forest (urskogsyta Hällberget).
  • The calculation of soil expectation value is faulty when seed trees or shelterwood trees are retained into the subsequent forest generation.
  • The timing of regeneration (planting and sowing) has an error in RegWise and PlanWise, it is applied five years too late.

  • The Tactical Treatment Program Generator is termporarily disabled, due to errors in net present value results.
  • The result types "TreatmentUnit" and "StandObjectData" cannot be included as parameters in an optimization model.


Features to be implemented

  • Add functionality to the Report Builder in PlanWise and RegWise to make class diagrams ("with group by-clause").
  • Wood property models (in progress)
  • More detailed results for extracted forest fuel (distribution over tree parts).
  • Support for other site index species (bonitetsvisande trädslag) in the stand register spreadsheet.
  • Add columns for diameter distribution model parameters, so that users who have these data can enter them in the stand register spreadsheet.
  • Definition of thinning programs that differ between early and late thinnings.
