Heureka is a multidisciplinary research programme carried out by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and the Forestry Research Institute of Sweden (Skogforsk). The research programme is developing software for forestry management planning and analysis, with special focus on multi-purpose forestry. The software applications are intended for both large-scale and small-scale forestry and are designed for different users´ specific problem areas:
- StandWise for stand-level analysis (sv: BeståndsVis)
- PlanWise for forest-level planning and analysis
- RegWise for regional and national scenario analysis
- Ivent is an application for field plot inventory (for Windows mobile devices)
- On top of this, PlanStart is used for data preparation (import of data from different data sources)
